COVID-19 Response Grant

    COVID-19 NONPROFIT REQUEST FORM
    The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our nonprofit community continues to grow. This is not a competitive grant process; it is an invitation to share specific needs and requests with BMCF. Your request should address a specific identified and prioritized need with the data/details to justify the amount requested.
    FUNDING FOCUS PRIORITIES
  • Basic Needs: Supporting organizations providing food, meals, shelter, housing, resources for physical/mental health for the most vulnerable in our service area.
  • Family Needs: Supporting organizations and programs focused on the wellbeing of children, students and families.
  • Nonprofit Needs: Supporting nonprofits that are at risk of fundamental service reduction, experiencing significantly reduced revenue or are at risk of permanent closure.
      ELIGIBILITY
    To be eligible for funding, a nonprofit must:
  • Be tax-exempt under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code
  • Be based in or serving Columbia, Garfield, Umatilla or Walla Walla counties

Discretionary Grants

BMCF has made changes to the discretionary grants program to address the challenges faced by the nonprofit community in the wake of the pandemic and floods. For the 2020 cycle, discretionary grants will be short term, general operating grants for nonprofits and charities focusing on food/hunger, housing/homelessness, physical/mental health. This opportunity is intended to assist nonprofit organizations in the service areas identified above in continuing to operate during the pandemic and enable them to readjust so that they may reopen or expand programming when it is allowable to do so.

Dayton/Columbia County WA Fund

The Dayton/Columbia County Washington Fund was started in 2004 by several Columbia County citizens for the purpose of enhancement, for the long term, of the social and economic well-being of the citizens of Columbia County.

Warren Community Action Fund

The Warren Community Action Fund considers requests from charitable 501(c)3 organizations, public agencies and religious organizations, including churches. The primary area of focus for grants is Dayton, Columbia County and northern Walla Walla County, particularly Waitsburg.

Grants are made to support programs that improve the quality of life in the community focusing on areas of health, education, basic human needs, children and youth, agricultural education and training, historic preservation, scientific programs, arts and recreation, and the environment. Requests for support for capital, project or program, and general operating support will be considered. Of particular interest are projects and organizations about which there is consensus in the community, demonstrated by financial and other support received from other sources.

The Warren Community Action Fund is a project of the extended Warren Family to honor parents Robert and Nadine Warren.

Garfield County Health Foundation Fund

The Garfield County Health Foundation Fund considers requests from charitable 501(c)3 organizations, public agencies and religious organizations, including churches.

Grants are made to support programs and organizations that promote the health and wellness of the citizens of Garfield County.

PGE Tucannon River Wind Habitat Project Fund

PGE Tucannon River Wind Habitat Project Fund awards grants to projects located in Columbia County. The types of projects that are eligible for grants will benefit wildlife, native habitat, and the residents of Columbia County. Projects should support stewardship of important wildlife areas including riparian, wetland, upland, grassland, shrub/steppe, and forest habitats.

PSE Lower Snake River Wind Habitat Project

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) Lower Snake River Wind Habitat Project Fund is focused on projects that benefit wildlife and the citizens of Garfield County by supporting stewardship of high-value habitat in Garfield County such as, but not limited to, Native upland habitats and grasslands.
