Board of Trustees
Peter Harvey, President
The Treasurer and CFO of Whitman College, Harvey is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He serves on the Foundation's Executive and Investment Committees. The father of two is married to a local math teacher.
Mark Thompson, Vice-President
Thompson is an owner of McDonald-Zaring Insurance Agency. He is also the offensive line coach for the Walla Walla High School Football Team. Thompson's service to the Foundation includes membership on the Executive and Governance Committees.
Ellen L. Wolf, Secretary
A retired superintendent of Walla Walla Public Schools, Dr. Wolf is also on the Board of Providence Health & Services. A Past-President of the Foundation, she serves on the Executive and Governance Committees.
Pete Peery, Treasurer
Peery is a founder and Past-President of the Foundation and remains one of its strongest advocates. Completing a career in Trust and Investment Management, he retains an estate law practice in Milton-Freewater, Oregon, and Walla Walla, Washington. Pete sits on the Foundation's Executive Committee.
Leslie Brown
A native of Milton-Freewater, Oregon, Brown is an Assistant Vice-President of Banner Bank. Her work experience also includes Higher Education administration. She serves as Chair of the Governance Committee and as a member of the Scholarship Committee.
Deborah Frol
A past publisher of the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin, Frol currently is the General Manager of L'ecole No. 41 winery. She serves as Chair of the Foundation's Budget Committee.
James Hayner
Partner in the law firm of Minnick-Hayner, Jim is a Walla Walla native, graduating from Walla Walla High School and Washington State University followed by Stanford Law School. Hayner chairs the Foundation's Investment Committee and also lends his service to the Governance Committee.
Jim Hobkirk
Dr. Hobkirk is a veterinarian and partner at Associated Veterinary Medical Center. A graduate of Walla Walla High School, Dr. Hobkirk has a lengthy record of accomplishment and activity in service to the community of his youth. A Past-President of the Foundation, he currently serves on the Grant Review and Investment Committees.
Jane Kreitzberg
Kreitzberg is a retired partner of Thompson-Kreitzberg, CPA. In addition to her service to the Foundation she volunteers for the YWCA, her church and is active in many youth development activities. Jane is also a Past-President of the Foundation and chairs both the Audit and Grant Review Committees.
Carol Varga Morgan
Morgan is a registered nurse and has become expert in organizing golf tournaments with several Pac-10 championships under her belt. Morgan is active with the American Association of University Women and Carnegie Art Center. She also lends her service to the Foundation's Budget and Scholarship Committees.
Terry Nealey
An attorney in Dayton, Washington, Nealey has been involved in every major civic project over the past several decades and has been recognized as a Dayton "Citizen of the Year." Nealey currently serves on the Grant Review and Investment Committees.
Dan Reid
Reid is a project manager for the building contracting firm of Opp & Seibold. He is a tireless community volunteer, having served as Rotary President and on the Walla Walla Public Schools Facilities Planning Committee. Reid is a member of the Foundation's Budget and Grant Review Committees.
Craig Sievertsen
Sievertsen is a Vice President/Commercial Loan Officer with Banner Bank and is recognized as one of "Banner's best." A graduate of Walla Walla High School and Washington State University, he returned to Walla Walla with his wife, Julie, to raise his family of four children. Active in many civic and community activities, he is a member of the Sunrise Rotary Club. Sievertsen lends his service to the Audit and Budget Committees.
Kathy Small
Small joined the Foundation's Board in March, 2008. For over 30 years, Dr. Small served Walla Walla Community College retiring as Vice President of Student Services. After departing WWCC, she launched a small consultancy, STC, specializing in leadership training and conflict resolution. Small volunteers throughout the community and enjoys her husband, grown children and new grandson.
Richard M. Wylie
Retired from the Wylie Monument Company, Wylie remains active in the community with an interest in local history. Wylie is chair of the Scholarship Committee. He is Chair of the Scholarship Committee and also serves on the Audit Committee.
Anne-Marie Zell Schwerin
Currently the Executive Director of the YWCA of Walla Walla, Anne-Marie is credentialed as a CPA. She is active throughout the community, serving as Chair of the Walla Walla Homeless Coalition and as Treasurer of the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence. She joined the Foundation's Board in March, 2008.
